The STEALTH LTD is a limited release of a new varient of the RAIL pedal released back in 2018. Nate informed me a few weeks ago that he had a small stack of RAIL PCBs left and there happened to be a few black gorva boxes left at our supplier so it was game on! We tweaked the circuit to come up with some never before heard mods but also we are gunna offer the original mods for anyone who wants that instead. The STEALTH version of the RAIL is voiced for a warmer and smoother voicing making the overdrive settings (lower gain) more musical and the higher gain settings less aggressive, arguably less 'fuzz', however velcro fuzz tones can be accomplished by openning up the highs and putting the 8 position gain switch on one of the last two settings! STEALTH LTD: New chip set for warmer full power rail clipping. Abvalible with orange drop in highs cap for the standard or Emerson Oil-in-Paper mod.
BLACKOUT MOD: Dual OPA2134 and Allen&Bradley NOS resisitors make for a killer modern fuzz machine with ultra musical highend.

The first pedal in the new Pettyjohn Electronics Core Series, the RAIL is a true full range fuzz machine. In traditional Pettyjohn fashion, we have brought rigorous engineering, creative design and a passion for tone shaping to craft a versatile fuzz for everyone at unmatched value.
The RAIL circuit takes a unique approach to generating fuzz which does not rely on clipping diodes or finicky vintage transistors. Instead, the pedal literally boosts the signal with extreme levels of gain into the voltage rails and hence the origin of the name ‘RAIL’.

CORE Series Dual Rail Power
We designed the CORE Series with a dual rail doubling power supply. This design can scale from +/-7v to +/-18v, effecting the headroom, tone and feel of the pedal, achieving up to four times the headroom over standard 9v pedals. The internal supply achieves this by mirroring whatever input voltage you apply via the external power supply and we always encourage people to experiment.
Since the RAIL works by essentially slamming the circuit into the power rails, the voltage you put in greatly affects the character of the distortion and fuzz as well as the output level.
