The LINK ONE DC is the missing link for almost any direct in situation that you would normally use a DI box, while adding studio preamp analog weight and warmth to anything plugged in direct to a sound board or mic input when you don't have access to a 48v power from a preamp, so it can be powered by a standard pedal power, 9v-18v 100mA center tip negative external DC power supply. We also added a footwitch that mutes the signal so you dont have to bend down during performace to mute your signal!

The LINK ONE DC is part of the worlds first discrete opamp driven active/passive DI solution. Achieve world class studio performance and tonal quality by using the same componants and circuitry found in world class 500 series preamps and other notable rack gear.
 
Perfect for any live stage or pedal board situation where plugging in an extra DC supply is prefered to using 48v, this little box will transformer any instrument into a balanced signal while imparting all the mojo of a large format recording console. Front-of-house engineers can now access record level sound quality without hauling in studio mic preamps for adding mojo to direct instruments. Performers will enjoy the sonic analog vibes in their in-ear monitoring just by adding the LINK ONE to their station. Live recording or streaming set ups will also greatly benifit from the studio grade discrete opamp driving a fantastic transformer, the LINK ONE DC is the missing link for any instrument station that could benifit from studio-grade analog goodness.

Direct Instrument Preamp
The LINK ONE DC rivals any studio direct box as it imparts glorious analog tone onto every instrument you plug in while converting high impedance unbalanced signals to a low impedance balanced signal using only the highest quality analog compants.
 
We think a high quality device should look as good as it sounds so we gave the LINK ONE a unique top label plate laser cut and hand-finished in our Oregon shop, made of solid Cherry wood.

Studio Grade Analog Circuity:
Every MISSING LINK Box is designed with our famous 990 Discrete Opamp input buffer driving a custom made Cinemag transfromer running off high voltage power rails and utilizing only the highest quality Wima MKP capacitors and metal film resistors in the audio path. With Gain and Pad switches set to 0dB it is a unity gain line level box, so it does not reduce the signal by 18dB like a standard DI box.
 
NOTE: There is no signal loss and you will need 18dB less gain at the console or preamp compared to a normal direct box. If you have to much gain we have provided a pad on the unit but we recommend turning down the preamp gain before using the on board pad.
 
MUTE FOOTSWITCH: 
Not sure why this isn't standard on every DI but a MUTE switch is standard on every MISSING LINK unit. A simple switch that mutes the input without any electronics pop allows the user to unplug without the annoying pop or getting the sound techs attention to mute the channel. Now you can unplug to save your active pickup batteries or to change out instruments or need troubleshoot the pedal board on the fly, no problem! The indicator jewel lights red when signal is muted as a convient visual. 
 
GAIN SWITCH:
This switch sets the gain level of the discrete opamp stage from 0dB, ie unity gain buffer, to +6dB or +12dB. We recommend starting on 0dB, but using the Gain control is perfect for adding studio grade gain to quiet pickups or to juice the genuine CInemag transformer for a bit more mojo, just like a studio mic preamp!
 
PHASE FLIP:
A preamp staple for problem solving. Invert the phase of the signal by 180 degrees. Nice.
 
PAD:
Reduce the level internally with a three way mini toggle. For unity gain, use the 0dB setting. For extra hot signals or to reduce transformer color, reduce the signal by 9dB or 18dB.
 
GROUND LIFT: 
Solve pesky ground loop hums with a simple flick of the switch.
